Baby Love

We had a very successful u/s today! The techs immediately got the pictures of the spine they couldn't get last time. They double checked a few other things, took some incredible pictures and that was that. Nothing new to report other than she looks healthy and beautiful. Don't let the peaceful look on her face fool you - she's definitely a move and a shaker. Apparently she's going to be a gymnast like her mom because the techs caught her with her feet over her head this morning. We are so in love!

Life is Good

...but not much to write about. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the nice, slow boring patch we've hit here lately but I can imagine it makes for less-than-thrilling reading.

Friday I took a personal day. I wanted a day to clean the house, my boss was going to be out and I was all caught up on my work. It's a good thing I cleaned the house Thursday night because I had a headache Friday that kept me in bed more than I had planned. It was pretty nice - aside from the headache. I got my hair cut in the afternoon and Peter and I had Pizza Hut for dinner. A successful day.

Saturday we slept in and then went grocery shopping. After lunch I cleaned out our coat closet (too small a space and too much stuff crammed in it). Some of it was moved to the laundry room and then the rest we ran to Salvation Army. We stopped by the library and I came across "Diary of a Mad Mom-To-Be". Considering I found "Diary of a Mad Bride" so amusing (and at times a little familiar) while planning our wedding, I knew I had to read this sequel.

After the library we ran to Old Navy to find me some comfy pants. I have one pair of pajama pants I wear all night every night as soon as I'm home from work so I bought another pair in lime green (my current pair is hot pink). I found a wonderful pair of yoga pants too. However, mom will need to hem both pairs before I wear them... and she's in Punta Cana for the week so I guess I'll just have to wait.

Sunday we taught Sunday school and went to church. I was craving coffee so I grabbed a cup of decaf (3 french vanilla creamers) and it was so, so good. I don't know what they do to our church coffee but it is always awesome. We grabbed a Wendy's lunch and then we put drawer liners in the dresser in the nursery. It just looks a little more finished and feminine (the liners are a blue/green floral-type design). Peter's parents visited on their way home to Rochester from Baltimore. His mom made us an adorable blanket and a little knit outfit. We love baby gifts. Later I fell asleep during the Oscars (sorry Hugh).

Tonight I made donuts after work for Fat Tuesday tomorrow. I already know that Pumpkin likes them - she's been kicking like crazy since I ate one! Life is so very good.

PS - I realize I wrote about Pizza Hut, coffee, Wendy's and donuts in one entry but I promise that Pumpkin is getting lots of healthy cereal and fruit juice and salad too.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Or as our Sunday school girls would say "Balentine's Day". I was overly excited for it this year. Don't know why - blame the ooey gooey mushy pregnancy hormones. I put some Valentine window clings on the front door and I love them. So fun!

So how did we spend our day? We slept in a little then we each snuck downstairs to fill out Valentine cards while the other was in the shower. So sneaky. I made heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast and then painted my nails a bright, festive pink that matched my shirt. We ran to the bank to close old accounts that have sat dormant since we switched banks a year ago. Turns out they were automatically closed due to inactivity anyway. We hit up Cornerstone while we were in the area for coffee and hot chocolate. I miss having a coffee house within walking distance. Sad.

After that we stopped by our tax place to finish up our paper work and get them filed. It's nice to have that done and off our minds. We grabbed groceries and went home. After a fight with the vacuum over an accidentally sucked up cat toy (I won) we got Thai take out for lunch. Delicious. We took a walk (before it started snowing. Where did that come from?) and we've pretty much been lounging ever since. All in all, a successful Saturday!

The Nursery!

Mom and Dad spent the night last night. They took us to Carrabba's (yum!). Today Mom and I went grocery shopping while Dad and Peter put the crib together. It looks spectacular. Then Mom cleaned our bath tubs (I'm so spoiled) while Dad hung some things on the wall for us. So now the nursery looks absolutely adorable and the house looks much homier.

We are also taking advantage of this beautiful weather. We took a walk and definitely plan to get in another tomorrow.

And for those interested, we now have a registry:

February already?

Where did January go? Not that I mind. It just makes us one month closer to spring and one month closer to meeting our little Pumpkin.

Last Friday I made pink cupcakes to share at work as a way to spread our news. It must have gone over well because I had to steal one of my own cupcakes in order to take any home!

Sunday we met up with my parents at my Gram's to celebrate Christmas with Dad's side of the family. We had a good meal and a nice visit.

We had a pretty laid back week. I tried a few new recipes; chicken rice wraps and sloppy joes. I know sloppy joes aren't exactly a new concept but I don't think I've ever actually made them on my own. They turned out pretty well!

Yesterday I made cookies for the Superbowl party we are attending today. I opted for Valentine's cookies as opposed to football cookies. Much cuter. I'm going to make up some sausage balls once I get done writing this entry. Last night we went to Texas Roadhouse with our neighbors. Afterward the boys played Guitar Hero while the ladies caught up on chit chat and then we all watched "The Rocker". A very nice evening.

We taught Sunday school this morning then went to church. I got Alexandra plopped in my arms for a few minutes. I can't wait to hold my own in a few months! After church we went with Chris, Michelle and Alexandra to a baby consignment shop that was having awesome sales. We ended up with 9 outfits for just $22. It was so much fun! I think my favorite is the bright orange t-shirt and skirt that say "I love summer".
