Happy Easter!

I hope you had a lovely Easter. Going back to work after a 3 day weekend was a bit difficult.

We had a busy but fantastic week. Tuesday we had our small group over for a pot luck dinner. It was a really good meal and a nice time. We played Spousology and apparently Peter and I don't know each other at all, haha.

Wednesday we took our last child birth class. We even received a little graduation certificate. I guess I'm now certified to have a baby. Thursday we took a "bear essentials" class. The focus was on hospital pre-registration, car seat safety and shaken baby syndrome. It feels really good to get a head start on the hospital paper work.

Friday I had a day off! I spent a little time at Target just wandering around. I went grocery shopping. I did some laundry and hung out with the cats. A terrific day. I just wish Peter could have had a day off too. Oh well - he gets plenty.

Saturday we slept in and then went out for coffee (hot chocolate for Peter). Peter's dad stopped by with some of Peter's old baby things and a gift from his grandma. My parents spent the night and took us out for Thai.

Sunday we taught Sunday school and then mom and dad met us at church. Afterward we all went to my gram's for Easter dinner. A lot of running around but overall a really good day.

That's the news from here. Peter's at the cat shelter and I'm about to try out a new recipe for dinner. Wish me luck.

A Longwood Weekend

Another fantastic weekend! We've had a lot of those lately. Lucky us.

Friday we spent the night at my parents'. I hung out with mom in bed and she even let me have the TV remote. Now that's real love.

Saturday mom and I went for pedicures. Heavenly. My toes are now "Senorita Rosa-lita". We returned home to the boys and headed to the Verizon store. We cancelled our current cell phone plan since we now have a home phone. After that we went to Perkin's for lunch. I don't know that I've ever been to a Perkin's but it was really, really good (especially the huge chocolate chip cookie!)

Then we finally headed to Longwood Gardens. It was a little chilly and not a whole lot was blooming outside but it was a really nice visit and there was so much to see inside. They have an orchid extravaganza going on right now. So pretty. I still wish we could have seen the Easter flowers too but that's not till April 1st.

On our way home we stopped at Walmart and Peter and I bought GoPhones to use for emergencies. So now I think as far as phones go we're all set! Saving money = awesome.

We didn't do much yesterday. Taught Sunday school, went to church, got groceries. I took a nap to recover from Longwood, haha. Michelle delivered our homemade peanut butter eggs we bought from Alex's day care and they are fantastic. If we hadn't put them in the freezer I'm not sure any would have made it till Easter. We'll see!

Peter just got home from the cat shelter. I'm trying out a new recipe (cheesy chicken & broccoli bake) so I'd better go rescue it and eat.

Welcome to... a blog!

Because we don't see nearly as much of friends and family as we would like these days, we're hoping to use this blog to give you a peek into our day-to-day lives. A little hectic, somewhat strange, always interesting.

For those who may need a re-cap, here we go: Peter works for the PA State Government (going on 3 years) and Amy works in HR for a world missions organization. We also run a paper route every morning. We volunteer at an animal shelter every Monday night and teach Kindergarten girls Sunday school at our church. We're planning a vacation to Europe in May but we'll blog more about that another time.

That's a start. We hope you enjoy our stories (and we give you permission to laugh at our expense should the opportunity arise... and it will). Not an exciting night but a typical one - here are some pics of us making dinner (disclaimer - we're not poor, this was just a lazy cooking night). And one of Kenny, our cat, for good measure.

Love and hugs!

Peter & Amy
