Baby Love

We had a very successful u/s today! The techs immediately got the pictures of the spine they couldn't get last time. They double checked a few other things, took some incredible pictures and that was that. Nothing new to report other than she looks healthy and beautiful. Don't let the peaceful look on her face fool you - she's definitely a move and a shaker. Apparently she's going to be a gymnast like her mom because the techs caught her with her feet over her head this morning. We are so in love!

It's a...

... healthy, squirmy baby GIRL!

We started the day on separate teams but now I'm a new recruit to team pink, haha. We are thrilled. We were just amazed at how much of her we got to see. She likes to flex and spread her fingers (our u/s techs told us normally babies like to clench their fists so to see all her fingers was unusual). She yawns a lot and it's just so, so cute. She likes to stretch but she doesn't roll. The techs couldn't get a good view of her spine because she stayed in one position the entire time. She's also currently breech but I guess that's nothing to worry about.

We may get to see her again if the Dr. orders a 2nd u/s to get a better look at her spine. Hopefully she'll cooperate a little better.

My Mom was here for the u/s and that was really nice. Afterward we went to Cracker Barrel for brunch and then did a little shopping for pink! Enjoy the pictures.

Happy New Year!

A bit late, I know. Peter and I had the longest week ever, starting December 31st. We spent the night at my parents' for new year's eve. I took a nap before midnight but I'm happy to report that I was indeed awake to ring in the new year. We spent new year's day with my parents and my mom hemmed a few pairs of maternity pants for me (for which I am eternally grateful).

Peter and I both went back to work Friday. Pretty much pointless as nobody was there and there was nothing to do. Peter's parents came to town Friday night and we had Neato Burrito. Saturday we drove with his parents to Dayton to visit Peter's grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins. It was good to see that side of the family because being in Dayton, obviously, we don't see them every day. We came home Tuesday, tired and so happy to be in our own bed. We missed our kitties too.

I was meant to have a Dr. appointment Wednesday but my Dr. canceled because of bad weather and I was rescheduled for Friday morning.

I had to jump right back into things at work because our big board meeting took place Thursday and Friday. Thursday night we had our first prenatal class at the hospital. We won't have any more till March. It was fun and very helpful. I've been on a health food kick ever since. Zucchini bread, veggie soup, whole grain bread, fruit juice... I'm all over it. Back to the board meeting, overall it went smoothly. Still, it's always a pretty busy and stressful time in the office.

Friday morning I had to go to my Dr. appointment by myself because of being rescheduled. Everything went very well. I've gained 2 pounds, my blood pressure looked good, baby's heartbeat was in the 150s. I got to schedule our big ultrasound for next Thursday so that's VERY exciting. Peter and I can hardly wait.

I'll leave you with my 18 week belly pic. Boy or girl guesses are highly encouraged!

New Baby Pics

We had our 2nd u/s last night. Baby measured about 9.5 weeks and is growing right on schedule. We saw the heartbeat again. What a miracle! We shouldn't have another u/s now till early February. I think it'll be a long wait.

I have a cold this week but I'm pushing through. I took the afternoon off yesterday to get some rest and I think that helped. Grape juice hasn't hurt either. And I think the weekend is really the best cure of all.

Ooooh! One more thing because I'm super proud of it. On Wednesday, Oprah mentioned on her show that for the next two days viewers could get a free 8x11 20 page photo book from Snapfish. I immediately ran to the computer because I've been wanting to make a photo book of our Europe pictures since May. In less than 90 minutes, I had ordered a lovely photo book worth $30 and only paid $7.41 shipping for it. I was so pleased. Can't wait to get it! If you're interested, check out the link on Oprah's website from Wednesday's show. You can still get in on this deal today I think.
